Every Friday night there's live music at The V Cafe. All genres of music from metal to folk. Just check out our schedule and make plans to join us for a night of music, fellowship and more. And there's more. WE NOW HAVE FREE WIRELESS INTERNET! So don't forget the laptop. And if you're hungry for pizza, you can pick up one of our special coupons, walk downstairs to Elidio's Pizza and order one of the best pizza's in Knoxville for only $5.00.
It's a place of community for the community. You can join us on any given Friday night at The V Cafe and you will see us having a great time of fellowship, food, and sometimes just plain fun. Every Friday night there are concerts and performances by local groups and artists. There are all styles of music, so check our calendar for more details. You can gather in our living room and join with others in one of the many board games or just sit on the couches and enjoy some good conversation. It's a great place to sit and finish up some homework or read a book. And the cafe bar will be open with plenty of refreshments. There's also a room for hanging out and playing foosball and ping pong.

The V Cafe is trying to do our part in reaching out to our communities during these tough economic times. Many in our area have lost jobs and are unable to properly provide for their families. There are men, women, and children living on the streets of Knoxville who can't afford a decent meal or clothing. There are families who actually live in the hotels in this area because they can't qualify for rental housing or a home loan, even though they are working at two or three jobs.
It is our responsibilty to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need. Micah 6:8 says "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." The Bible also tells us that "He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor." (Prov. 22:9) We can all share at least a can of food with those less fortunate than ourselves.
That is what we at The V intend to do in 2009. As usual all of our concerts will be FREE. But there will be a donation box at the door. Normally all donations received are given directly to the bands. However, all of the bands who will be performing over the next several months have agreed to give there portion of the donations to the needy. This is a wonderful testimony to the quality and character of those who perform at The V.
There will also be a large box near the door where donations of canned foods and non-perishable items can be placed. These items will be given to the needy and to local ministries who help feed the poor of our community.
We appreciate the bands and each of you who will help us fulfill the call of Christ to our area through your contributions. All of your gifts are tax-deductible, if you so desire. You will be able to track the amount of gifts received and where they are distributed by visiting the website - http://www.jesustothestreets.org/
We've published our first CD celebrating some of the artists who have performed at The V Cafe'. Something About The Journey is available here.
